The restaurant, known for its made-from-scratch cuisine and welcoming atmosphere, introduced the new menu on Tuesday that includes three new appetizers, seven new entrées, a new dessert and several new cocktails.

During the process of revamping the Bluewater menu, the restaurant tested many of the new dishes on the daily specials menu.  “We had so many great ideas for new dishes that it became a dilemma picking what should be featured permanently,” said Executive Chef Bill Heckler.  “We let the guests decide which of these new flavorful selections they wanted to see more of, and this process produced an excellent new lunch and dinner menu.”

The new Artisanal Cheese Plate, four local farm cheeses served with date jelly, strawberries, olives, pecans and grapes, drizzled with honey and served with crostinis, is not only featured on the lunch and dinner menu, but has been added to Bluewater’s popular Happy Hour Menu.  From 4pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday, Bluewater patrons can enjoy appetizer specials for $5 and $7.  Happy Hour also features $2 off all signature house beer and wines by the glass, as well as $5 ultra premium cocktails.

New entrées on the dinner menu include the Lemon Sole with Brown Butter Sauce: a fresh fillet sautéed in a brown butter sauce and served with rice pilaf and fresh vegetables, and the Shrimp & Grits: sautéed shrimp with andouille sausage, shallots, garlic and stewed tomato jus, served with creamy jack cheese stone ground grits.

Other new menu items include:

  • Salt & Pepper Calamari
  • Fish & Chips
  • Grilled Veggie Burger (Lunch Only)

Chattanooga, Tenn. (November 8, 2011)– Bluewater Grille gave back to the community at its 3rd annual “Tell Me Something Derby!” Kentucky Derby fundraiser in May. The event raised an astounding $21,642 for the Chattanooga Room in the Inn, a non-profit residential program for homeless women and children. Over the past three years, this one day benefit has raised over $36,000 for the charity.

"I am honored to be a part of the Kentucky Derby Event at Bluewater every year!” said Heather Jenkins, Sales and Marketing Manager at Blue Water Grille. “We work with a dedicated group of individuals from Chattanooga Room in the Inn who put their hearts and souls into making this benefit so successful. Having watched it grow from a small event for about 200 to an event with over 700 attendees is very rewarding."

The unique ambiance of the Kentucky Derby was assimilated in the “Steeple Tent” of the Republic Parking Lot next to Bluewater, a venue that was donated in support of the charity. The horse race was featured on big screen TVs, prizes were raffled throughout the day and a “Best Hat” contest was held for those brave enough to dress the part. There was broadcasted music and live commentary by day, while the night entertainment shifted to a DJ and dancing theme. Mint Juleps and specialty drink tickets were available at the cash bar, and VIP ticket holders received 10% off their dinner at Bluewater. The “Tell Me Something Derby” party was also sponsored by Republic Parking, Sunny 92.3 and the Chattanooga Times Free Press. The success of the benefit is owed to the participation of the Chattanooga community. This year’s event took place on Saturday, May 7th from 3:30PM – 10PM.
